Hi All! It's been a while since I have had any time to create... but I did get a couple hours in yesterday! It amazes me how sometimes things just come together and other times nothing works the way you wanted it to! Today... things worked!

This spread was done using a ton of gesso on the bottom, with a ton of different inks! And lots of inspiration from France Papillon you-tube videos!

Easy peasy but it turned out just like I wanted it to!

This next one was a quick page I did for a scrapbook forum I belong to.... Scrap, Paper, Scissors.
Stamped and inked the back, added some circles from some random pages I had laying around, added the saying and Tim Holtz paper dolls. and VOILA!! Done!

Thanks for taking a peek!

A new project!

Hello all.... it has been a while since I created, so I made this altered computer board for a couple challenges this month! It was fun to get messy again, and I really do need to create every day for the rest of the year.

I created this for Words & Paintery October challenge. Here is the gorgeous colors we were to use...
Don't you just love those blues, greens and shimmery gold together? I know I took my inspiration from this to create my mixed media computer board.

I also used the beautiful moodboard over at Mixed Media & Art for this months challenge....

I love the dreaminess of this mood board and the colors with pops of gold!

One last challenge I made this for was over at Mixed Media World , where we could use anything mixed media as well as glass or imitation glass. I used glass gem stones to add a pop of sparkle to my dreamy piece.

Thanks for taking a peek!

ITAC 2017

Hi all! This month there is an amazing group of artists who have brought their talents together to inspire us in a month long challenge at International Tournament of Art & Craft. If you haven't checked out this, you really must! The talent is inspirational to say the least!

The first challenge is to do an art piece based on "Europe".

I did an art journal canvas or sorts....

I( had to use the following:  a face, papers, letters/numbers, blue, ribbon, textures, something vintage and modern. I did this and had a blast creating this past couple days!

The first thing I did, was to use a page out of a coloring book I had been given about cities! |I used the Piccadilly Square paper... how much more European can you get! When I lived in England for a year, Piccadilly Square was my favorite place in London! It is so vibrant, lively and the best place in the world for people watching!

Then I added some papers and a photo from a magazine I found in my Mother's stash. It is the magazine "Band of Hope Review" and was published in 1887! I think that counts for the vintage part of the challenge... don't you? Then I watercolored around the page, added some molding paste, ribbons, metal, and such... and voila!

A few close-ups.....

What an amazing challenge! I can't wait to see what next week brings!

Thanks for taking a peek!

My inspiration... France Papillon

Good Morning all! I just wanted to share a little something with you all today....

One of my favorite artists of all time is France Papillon. I love her style, her techniques, her videos, and her art. She has the most amazing inspiration you-tube videos found HERE.

This past Monday, I was inspired to use one of  journals she made, and I purchased to start a new journal with my inspiration from her videos. I purchased the journal a bit ago from France, and have not had the heart to get it messy, but after this past Monday's video, I knew it was time!

So, I got my papers out, my paints out, and got messy!

I have to say, this has to be my favorite page I have done in a long while....

Than you France for all your inspiration and talent... and most importantly, thank you for sharing!

Moodiversary Week 3, #1

Here goes for week 3 at Our Mixed Media Moods.

I just LOVE the mood board for this months' moodiversary challenges!

Here is my Week 3 #1 entry! I was inspired by the actual tiles of the mood board, so I cut up some photos from magazines that have the similar colors of the mood board, and made a mosaic of them.. and of course, I added a flower (which I am doing for the whole month!).

Thanks for taking a peek!

Hi all.  Over at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge this week, they want to see masculine!

I am also entering this into this month's challenge at More Than Words. I usually don't combine challenges, but this fit the theme of father and steampunk, with cogs and mustache well.

I am also going to use this to enter into A Vintage Journey challenge this month as well!

I decided to make an 8" x 10" mixed media canvas for my son.

I added tons of texture (fibers, drywall tape, modeling past), covered it all with white gesso... then sprayed with black and blues.

After adding metal, wood and other embellishments, I gessoed the whole thing again.. and sprayed and rubbed until I was happy. Then I added the photo and some journaling.

Hope you like it!

... a couple close-ups...

Emerald Creek Dares

Well... it has been some time since I played! So today was the day!

I decided to do an art journal spread for Emerald Creek Dares... splatter some fun! And that is just what I did! Splattered, inked, pasted!

Now that I finally broke that creative funk I was in, off to play some more!

Mixed Media & Art

You really need to check out this amazing challenge blog... Mixed Media & Art.

The challenge for this month is to use this mood board for inspiration for your art piece....

I just love all the blues and greens of this board!

I decided to stick to an art journal spread, using a Christmas napkin I had from this past season, I adhered this down with matte medium, stamped, stenciled and painted my way to happiness! I then added some gauze I had sprayed black, and glass gel beads. I finished it off with a tag that I used shimmer paints on, some splatters and a photo of a door (another inspiration from the mood board!). Finally I added some dots I had in my stash from forever ago!

Thanks for taking a peek and if you can, you really need to check out what the DT did for this board... truly stunning pieces!

Pink October

Hello all my friends!

This month is Pink October over at ARTastic challenge, and this month we are to honour those who have been affected by breast cancer...... either directly or indirectly.

To do justice to this challenge, I have made a mini album about "Classy Ladies". On the ARTastic challenge blog this month, we also have a great tutorial on Beyond the Page mini album by Kat Gray

I have always loved doing mini's and thought what better way to do this challenge, than to do a mini about ladies! All in pinks and blacks, with a splash of color here and there!

Take a peek at the pages....

I hope you have enjoyed this mini.. it was fun to do and meant so much to me!

I have also decided that one of you who leave a comment will be the recipient of this mini!

Just leave a comment, and I will put your name in for a draw for this on November 1st!

Thanks for taking a peek and have a fantastic October!
